Janelle Rollo studied a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice through Griffith University. Janelle was awarded the University Medal for her work with the Innocence Project.

Janelle was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Brisbane on 30 January 2006. Janelle commenced practise as a Solicitor on 31 January 2006, practising in a variety of areas of law, including Family Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law such as Domestic and Family Violence matters, Child Protection matters, Wills and Estates Law, Commercial Disputes and Commercial Leasing. Janelle has always practised as a Preferred Supplier to Legal Aid Queensland.

Janelle became a Principal Solicitor in 2009 and established a firm on Brisbane’s southside, in the Logan area as a Partner. Janelle then progressed to establishing her own Law Firm in July 2012 as a Principal Solicitor in her own right.

Janelle undertook additional study through Bond University in 2011 to become a qualified Mediator. Janelle then undertook her requisite hours of supervised training as a mediator to become accredited with the Attorney-General’s Office (Commonwealth) to issue section 60i Certificates later in 2011 and was registered as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

Janelle’s Firm Logan Legal Centre quickly grew and Janelle and her employed solicitors represented many clients in the Greater Brisbane region including Jimboomba, Beaudesert, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

Janelle opened a second office in Rochedale in 2015 and then relocated the Firm to the Rochedale office in 2017. Janelle rebranded the Law Firm in 2018 to JMR Lawyers & Mediators.

Janelle completed her studies to become an Independent Childrens Lawyer in 2021 and was appointed as an Independent Childrens Lawyer in 2022 by Legal Aid Queensland.

Janelle sold JMR Lawyers & Mediators in late 2024 to commence practise as a Sole Practitioner, focusing on her representation of Children as an Independent Childrens Lawyer and providing quality mediation services to people in the Brisbane and Greater Brisbane Region.

Do Mediators have Special Skills or Qualifications?

Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners are professionally trained in Mediation techniques to resolve parenting and property matters amicably. They facilitate discussions to help parties reach an agreement without needing to go through the Family Court system.

As well as her degrees in Law and Criminology, Janelle has undertaken additional study through Bond University in 2011 to become a Mediator. Janelle has also undertaken all necessary registration requirements to be registered with the Attorney-General’s Office to issue section 60i Certificates. Janelle ensures she attends to all necessary compulsory Legal and Mediation training each year to remain an Accredited Family Law Mediator as well as Solicitor.
